Miller Tobin directed the episode written by executive producer Liz Tigelaar.
Reviews “Bride UnBridled”
Mar 9th
The TV Chick: But back to Lux and Jones’ “date,” that he picks her up at 9 am for. They are driving somewhere quite far and Lux is skeptical. However, they discover that they both have the same taste in music. (At first I thought that Baze told Jones what Lux likes, but it turns out that isn’t true). While Lux and Jones are on their date, Baze finds a text message from Ryan to Lux (she left her phone at home). Ryan is going to buy Lux a car, and Baze is none too pleased about this fact. Finally, Lux and Jones arrive at their destination and Tasha runs out of the house. Lux and Tasha embrace in an incredibly great moment. Jones is obviously a good guy. I am still wondering about Bug and if he will ever come back, but I like that there is another love interest for Lux. Lux and Tasha spend the whole day catching up, and Jones babysits the other foster kids. (Team Abercrombie?) full review here
TV Fanatic: We liked seeing Baze and Ryan sharing a beer together and quasi bonding. Odd, yes, but nice nonetheless. Ryan needs a friend and wouldn’t it be something if he and Baze become bros?
We love this show and can’t see what will be the next development in each of their lives. What did you guys think? Also, anyone else love that the bong lamp came up in conversation again this week? full review here
Ryan: The real question is what the hell is wrong with you.
Baze: I get that you and Cate have issues – I don’t care.
Math: I’m not a stalker – I’m a long time fan.
Cate: I made my bed, and now I have to lie about it – awesome.
Someone has a crush on Math…
Television Without Pity: “Even though Math literally has nothing to do with anything outside of turtle racing — albeit a pretty kick-ass contribution to the show in general.”
Zap2it: Random thoughts:
- Loved Joe Purdy’s “Can’t Get it Right Today” as the opening track. He’s one of my favorite artists. Check him out! (Also: Schuyler Fisk at the end! Good stuff.)
- Were those bands on Jones’ iPod real? If so, I am REALLY old because I haven’t heard of a one of them.
- This was the first time I realized Math’s name is actually Matthew. Did we already know this?
- One of my favorite things about this show is how each adult character has a different yet wonderful relationship with Lux. Baze is the fun dad who is great at making her feel better, Ryan is the “cool” guy she can talk with about cars and boys, and Cate is the mom who uses her own life experiences to dole out advice. They’re building great things here, character-wise.
Favorite quotes:
- “I gotta admit, I was psyched about having Lux stay with us, but she’s so depressing. How long can she cry over a guy with a web on his neck?” - Baze
- “Right. I made my bed, now I have to lie about it.” - Cate
- “Don’t bother trying to fix us, Cate. Just fix yourself.” - Ryan

Liz Tigelaar: The Evolution of Life Unexpected
Mar 6th

LA TV examiner spoke with Liz Tigelaar, the creator of the hit show, Life Unexpected:
Tigelaar points to last week’s episode (“Crisis Unaverted“) when reaching for an example of this. “I remember first pitching it, and it was a story about Tash (K. Solo), and Lux (Britt Robertson) and her mom,” she recalls. “And we got a note that it was too small that sent us off in a completely different direction– about Lux and Bug (Ravi Gavron) and Bug’s past and Tash’s mom needing money and Lux trying to get it from Cate but not being able to. So Lux and Bug did something involving drugs or something shady and ends up getting them all in trouble. We thought we were answering the note of ‘make it feel bigger; make higher stakes.’ But then the network kind of freaked out about ‘what show is this?’ We’re not some dark show, going into a drug den– though I would love that! So what ended up happening was we came back around to doing a much smaller, simpler story, kind of like what we pitched in the first place, of Lux desperate for her friend to have what she has.”

During a meeting with the social worker, Cate, Baze and Lux agree to put on a happy face to ensure that Lux isn’t placed back in the foster care system. As Seen in Life Unexpected: Kimmidoll
Mar 5th
The “Kimmidoll™”can be seen in Cate’s kitchen! Some of you have ask for more information about the dolls, so here goes!
The Kimmidoll Brand was conceived form a long standing passion with elegant decorative gift and homewares items influenced by Eastern culture. The traditional Japanese Kokeshi Doll is a perfect example of this simplistic Eastern beauty. The art of making Kokeshi Dolls dates back to the 19th century. They were originally hand rafted by peasant farmers to be given away as tokens of Love and Friendship. The true intent of Kokeshi Dolls was paramount in our development of Kimmidoll™. Our idea to create a range of more contemporary doll characters, each with an individual meaning expression one of the “Life’s True Values.” As a gift, Kimmidoll™ shares common beliefs and aspirations with friends and loved ones. As a decorative item for the home, they represent a common connection shared by people all over the world. As a collectible, each doll is unique and meaningful, connecting with one of life’s true values.
-
Kimmidoll™ designs, characters and meanings will be developed on a regular basis. In addition, an extensive range of gift, fashion and homeware products will be developed featuring individual characters.Follow Kimmidoll:
