LUX named one of the greatest hits of 2010!

New York Post names Life Unexpected as one of the greatest picks for hits of 2010~!
Tired of bouncing through the Portland, Ore. foster care system, 15-year-old Lux (Brittany Robertson) decides she wants to be an emancipated minor. The legal rigmarole leads her to her biological dad, bar owner Nate (Kristoffer Polaha), who turns around and introduces her to her mom, radio host Cate (Shiri Appleby, “Roswell”), whom Nate hasn’t seen in 15 years. When the judge grants Nate and Cate temporary custody, they try to give Lux the family she’s never had. Kerr Smith (“Dawson’s Creek”) stars as Cate’s fiancé.
LUX makes E!’s top ten list!

All this week, E!online is counting down the most anticipated series of the new year and telling you what to watch and what highlights to expect from 2010′s top TV. Coming in at No. 6 is a sweet and funny WB-style family drama:
Premieres: Jan. 18, 9 p.m.
Starring: Shiri Appleby, Kristoffer Polaha, Britt Robertson, Kerr Smith
Status: New series
Why should you give this sweet new series a shot? Here’s what we can tell you:
Ahhh, the glory days of the WB are back, and we’d like to extend the warmest of welcomes to Life Unexpected for delivering this shot of nostalgia. Not too long after we ring in the New Year, the CW debuts Life Unexpected, its freshest series since The Vampire Diaries.
Life Unexpected is a family-centric series that follows foster kid Lux (newcomer Britt Robertson) on her journey to find acceptance within her new family. The pilot immediately draws you in with its cast of typical gorgeous folks, but even better than the good looks of the cast is the script’s capacity to pique your interest in these characters as quickly as it does. Will little Lux escape the gloom of the foster-care system? Will her birth parents take her in? It’s deep stuff for the first few episodes of a series, but somehow it all works.
Add to the mix former WB faves Shiri Appleby of Roswell fame, and Dawson’s Creek’s Kerr Smith, and you’ve got yourself a winner! LUX, as we’ll call it from here on out, is the perfect blend of Felicity‘s coming-of-age tale with Everwood‘s small-town family feel. Trust us, you’ll love it.
Interview with Kristoffer Polaha
Dec 21st
by R.J. Carter as seen in The Trades
You’ve seen him on North Shore, Mad Men, and in a host of guest appearances on several hit television shows. Now Kristoffer Polaha is taking a leading role in the highly anticipated CW offering, Life Unexpected, as a “Peter Pan” bachelor who is suddenly forced to grow up when he learns he has a daughter he never knew about.
The nutshell premise of the show is that your character, Nate “Baze” Bazile and Cate (played by Shiri Appleby) had a baby in high school, whom they gave up to the state system, and are only now having to truly deal with the ramifications of having a family. But that barely scratches the surface of things. Maybe you can expound a bit more on what viewers can expect?
Yeah, that’s really the tip of the iceberg. That’s the catalyst of the whole show. To clarify, Baze gets Cate pregnant in high school. Cate tells Baze, “I’m pregnant,” Baze doesn’t take any responsibility for that, and she goes ahead and gives the baby up for adoption, and Baze has no idea that now there’s a baby out there in the world that belongs to him.
